Tesla’s self-driving test software FSD Beta V11 is an extremely important release, the first version of the system to utilize a single software stack for highway and inner-city driving, and expectations for this update are high, as it is known to have significant improvements over previous versions.
However, like many Tesla products, the mass push of FSD Beta V11 has been repeatedly delayed. Tesla started an early and small push of FSD Beta V11 as early as last November, with the goal of a mass push by Thanksgiving 2022. But the goal of a mass rollout of FSD Beta V11 by Thanksgiving 2022 did not materialize, and not long after, Musk gave V11 a two-week buffer in December, and by the first week of January, Musk noted that FSD Beta V11.3 should be ready for a mass rollout in about two weeks, and Musk emphasized at the time that V11.3 would have ” many significant improvements.”
Tesla still hadn’t started the mass rollout of FSD Beta V11.3. Recently, Elon Musk gave an explanation for the major delay in the mass push of the V11 version. Musk acknowledged that V11 has been more challenging overall than expected and that it has many notable changes to the FSD Beta system as a whole. Musk also noted that he hopes to have V11.3 available by the end of the week.
