Recently, at Huawei 2022 HDC Harmony ecological strategic cooperation signing ceremony, Tencent vice president Qie Xiaohu and Huawei executive director, terminal BG CEO, and intelligent car solutions BU CEO Yu Chengdong signed a memorandum of cooperation, announced Tencent Sogou input method and Huawei to establish a partnership. Tencent Sogou Input Method will develop Sogou Input Method Harmony Edition based on the HarmonyOS framework with OpenHarmony as the base, creating a full-scene input application and bringing an innovative input experience.
HarmonyOS is Huawei’s distributed operating system for all scenarios, and the same system is adapted to multiple smart terminals, with 320 million devices on board. According to the content of the cooperation, Sogou Input Method Harmony Edition has rich thesaurus resources, various input methods, AI technology and other features, and will fully support smartphones, personal computers, smart wear, smart home appliances and other smart devices under HarmonyOS, and provide input services for users in smart cars, smart education, fitness and entertainment and other diversified input scenarios. Sogou Input Method Harmony Edition will also innovate and optimize for HarmonyOS’s distributed architecture, full-scene linkage and other features to achieve the effect of multiple deployments in one development, significantly reducing the adaptation threshold and cost of input applications for other partners in the Harmony ecosystem.
Sogou Input Method Harmony Edition is an input application developed with the OpenHarmony technology base. Under the HarmonyOS framework, Tencent Sogou Input Method has developed the basic input function of a virtual keyboard and adapted it to some devices, and the input method supports the selection and switching of Pinyin 9 keys, Pinyin full keys, English full keys and five strokes.
At present, Tencent Sogou Input Method covers Windows, Android, iOS, MacOS, HarmonyOS, Linux and other system platforms.
