Teardown confirms China-made Apple iPhone 14 / Pro series adopted CK Storage’s NAND flash memory

0

Apple held a new conference, the official release of the iPhone 14 series of cell phones, starting at RMB 5999.

Before that, Korean media sources said that Chinese manufacturer Changjiang Storage has entered Apple’s supply chain and will supply iPhone 14 series NAND flash memory. Apple has since admitted that it is considering purchasing NAND chips from CK Storage, but only for some of the iPhones sold in China.

Prior to the iPhone 14 series, Apple relied heavily on Korean memory chip makers such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Therefore, market watchers believe that Apple’s partnership with CK Storage will further diversify their NAND flash memory suppliers and also help reduce the price of this important component.

With Apple’s iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series unbanned and on sale, most of the first orders have been delivered to customers, and even now bloggers have released a teardown video of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Several teardown bloggers have confirmed that Apple’s iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series all use NAND flash memory provided by CK Storage for their domestic models. According to feedback from users, it seems that some models also use NAND from other manufacturers, so it seems that Apple’s supply chain is still diversified.

The official out-of-warranty repair price for Apple’s iPhone 14 / Pro series has been released. The glass back of the iPhone 14 series is much cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro series because it can be removed separately.
