Digital blogger @Digital Gossip Station today revealed that the Xiaomi 13 series engineering models have three 50MP cameras and two 50MP cameras + another camera version, with more secondary cameras in the series and upgraded primary and mid-telephoto cameras. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which was released later, is expected to get another upgrade with new modules and some sensors.

For the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the blogger said yesterday that the machine will make up for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra’s fast-charging regret by using 100-watt fast charging.

According to the blogger in late August, the standard version of Xiaomi 13 will be about 6.36 inches of 2.5D flexible straight screen, support 120Hz high refresh rate and the screen is centered single hole design, the four sides almost equal narrow.

In July this year, the blogger revealed that the Xiaomi 13 series of engineering machines use a multi-pole ear single-cell solution, equipped with a self-researched fast charging IC-enabled 100-watt battery, and the series will be a full complement of 50W full-blooded wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 12S Standard Edition features a 6.28-inch 2400×1080 resolution 120Hz high-brush OLED screen curved screen, powered by Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 processor. It has a built-in 4500mAh battery and supports 67W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging and 10W wireless reverse charging.

Xiaomi 12S Pro features a 6.73-inch 3200×1400 Samsung E5 AMOLED screen with Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 processor. It has a built-in 4600mAh battery and supports 120W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging.

Starting off with the display, the Xiaomi 12S flaunts a 6.28-inches Super AMOLED display with FHD+ 1080*2400 pixel resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1100 nits of peak brightness, support for Dolby Vision and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.

As for the optics, it has got an upgraded 50MP Sony IMX709 primary camera paired with a 13MP secondary ultrawide and 5MP telephoto macro sensor. It has got a 32MP front selfie snapper housed in centre aligned punch-hole cutout. All the devices in the series come with the integration of Leica imaging in the photography department.

The device is powered by a 4500mAh battery coupled with 67W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging support. Additional specifications include support for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), dual stereo speaker with Dolby Atmos, and reverse wireless charging.

The device will be available in 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants. It is priced at CNY 3999, CNY 4299, CNY 4699 and CNY 5199 respectively. The user can choose between Black, White, Green and Pink colour variants.

The Xiaomi 12S Pro has an upgraded 6.73-inches Super AMOLED display with QHD+ 1440*3200 pixel resolution, LTPO 2nd generation with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1500 nits of peak brightness, Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ certification. It is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.

The brand has packed triple rear cameras in the device with a 50MP Sony IMX 709 primary camera sensor, 50MP secondary ultrawide and 50MP telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom support. Front hs 32MP selfie snapper. It is powered by a 4600mAh battery coupled with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

Both the devices will boot up on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 right out of the box. They further have support for Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS based location tracking, IR blaster, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

The device will be available in 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants. It is priced at CNY 4699, CNY 4999, CNY 5399 and CNY 5899. It will be available in four different colour variants; Black, White, Pink and Green.

IT Home learned that the Xiaomi 12S Pro is equipped with three Leica professional optical lenses, including professional main camera, portrait main camera and ultra-wide angle main camera, to achieve full focal length coverage.

Professional main camera: Sony IMX707 super base, 24mm equivalent focal length.

Portrait main camera: 2x telephoto, 50mm equivalent focal length.

Super wide-angle primes: 115-degree super wide-angle, 14mm equivalent focal length.

In addition, Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun said that Xiaomi 12S Pro realizes Leica native dual quality, full focal length Leica images, three Leica professional optical lenses, all 50 megapixels, “making mobile photography more professional”.

According to previous information, the screen of Xiaomi 12S Pro is 6.73-inch second-generation LTPO 2K screen with 522 ppi and 1500nit peak brightness, while supporting 16000 levels of automatic brightness, 10bit color, micro-prism technology and 1-120Hz intelligent dynamic refresh rate.

In terms of charging, Xiaomi 12S Pro supports 120W surging second charge with two modes: fast fast charge and constant temperature, which can be charged to 100% in 19 minutes and constant temperature in 25 minutes. In addition to 120W surging second charge, Xiaomi 12S Pro also supports 50W wireless second charge and 10W wireless reverse charge.

As the image reveals. The lineup will be included are the 12S for the standard high-end variant, 12S Pro for the balanced and settled as the new flagship standard, and the last yet anticipated 12S Ultra which going to deliver the rocking image quality of the smartphone. And interestingly, all lineups will be powered by Leica for camera tuning.

According to Teme, the possible variants that will be available globally are 12S and 12S Pro. While the Ultra variant will be available China-only.

According to stufflistings leak, the storage variant for both regular and Pro variants will be available up to 512GB. And 12GB for maximum RAM capacity available

In terms of charging speed, the phone will be equipped with 120W for the 12S Pro Snapdragon version. While the MediaTek version will only support up to 67W. While the battery capacity still remains undisclosed for regular and Pro variants.

For the Ultra variant will also support up to 67W with a battery up to 4800mAh variant.

So it is suggested to take the leaks with a grain of salt until the official announcement.

The leaker made a post on Weibo via Digital Chat Station and detailed a few key specs of the upcoming devices.

Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S specifications (rumored) 

According to the Weibo post, the Xiaomi 12S Pro will be a very different device. It is supposed to be equipped with Qualcomm’s upcoming chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. The SoC will reportedly use TSMC’s 4mm fabrication process, making the device’s overall yield and power consumption far superior. 

The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus is rumored to include a Cortex X2 prime core inside, along with, three Cortex A710 cores and four Cortex A510 cores. The clock speed will be around 2.99GHz. It is expected to debut on coming Friday (May 20).

The Xiaomi 12S Pro is expected to have a large 2K display. New image enhancement features have been added and some design changes have been made.   

The Xiaomi 12S will be a smaller device with an FHD display and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display size hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is said to have a friendly size. The device will reportedly have a single-hole flexible curved screen, and the rear will have a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera. No news on the sub-cameras yet, but the device may go through a few hardware changes.
