It seems like Xiaomi is not finished with the Xiaomi 12 series yet. Earlier today, a new leak surfaced online that said, the company plans to release two new 12-series smartphones later this year. The devices are expected to be named Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro.
The leaker made a post on Weibo via Digital Chat Station and detailed a few key specs of the upcoming devices.

According to the Weibo post, the Xiaomi 12S Pro will be a very different device. It is supposed to be equipped with Qualcomm’s upcoming chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. The SoC will reportedly use TSMC’s 4mm fabrication process, making the device’s overall yield and power consumption far superior.
The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus is rumored to include a Cortex X2 prime core inside, along with, three Cortex A710 cores and four Cortex A510 cores. The clock speed will be around 2.99GHz. It is expected to debut on coming Friday (May 20).
The Xiaomi 12S Pro is expected to have a large 2K display. New image enhancement features have been added and some design changes have been made.
The Xiaomi 12S will be a smaller device with an FHD display and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display size hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is said to have a friendly size. The device will reportedly have a single-hole flexible curved screen, and the rear will have a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera. No news on the sub-cameras yet, but the device may go through a few hardware changes.
