“Baldur’s Gate 3” is a game developed and published by Larian Studios. It will be available on the PC platform on August 3 and on the Sony PlayStation 5 platform on September 6.

Larian’s publishing director recently tweeted that the game won’t be coming to Xbox until 2024 as the development team is overcoming a “huge technical hurdle,” and plans to provide an update on development by the end of 2023.

The release director of Larian stated that “Baldur’s Gate 3” has not signed an exclusive agreement. Since the Series S game console cannot work properly in the local online mode, it needs to be optimized for the Microsoft Xbox platform.

The contents of Larian’s official update log are as follows:

We’re always working to bring the game to as many platforms as possible. We’re optimistic about Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Series X, but we still need to make sure the game runs without compromise in multiplayer and split-screen modes in the Xbox X/S ecosystem.

We have made great efforts and will continue to forge ahead. Just like the PS5 version, we will announce the release once everything is ready. Please stay tuned, we will update the information as soon as possible.

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan believes that the PlayStation 5 game console will sell more than 108 million units during its life cycle.

This means that Sony executives expect PS5 sales to be lower than PS4 (117.2 million units) but higher than the original PlayStation (102.4 million units).

Jim Ryan’s answer in the game business briefing is as follows:

I estimate that the entire life cycle of the PlayStation 5 can bring an additional 70 million units on top of the existing 38 million units.

The main reason for this is that the existing PlayStation 4 user base is 70 million, and I think most of them will upgrade to PS5.

On the other hand, we will use more game resources to attract new players to buy PS5, and most of them are new players who have never owned a PlayStation console.

I’m looking forward to PS5 sales, and possibly exceeding the numbers above.

Uncle Party @Tom Henderson broke the news last month that the 2023 PS5 with a detachable optical drive will be launched in September this year and will replace the existing PS5 model; Sony PS5 Pro (unnamed) is under development and is tentatively scheduled to be released by the end of 2024.

Tom Henderson said today that the new Sony hardware will arrive before the PS5 Pro model, but no one has revealed anything about this new product yet.

“I can reveal more details, but before the Pro, Sony will also announce a new piece of hardware, I may tell you about it soon, so do stay tuned. I can’t say more, this is not a fool Jokes like festivals, but there’s more hardware coming from Sony than is currently known.”

“When this new hardware is released, it will be very interesting to see what the competition thinks of it.”

He believes that neither this unannounced new hardware nor the current PS5 may see a price cut until the half-generation upgrade model is released. There’s also the oddity here that while he mentions Sony’s new hardware, he doesn’t mention “PlayStation” directly, so we don’t think this is necessarily hinting at a new PS model.

It’s worth mentioning that a new patent recently published by PlayStation Chief Architect Mark Cerney suggests that SIE is looking for ways to improve ray tracing performance in its games. Insider Gaming believes that this so-called PS5 Pro will bring enhanced graphics performance and faster loading times like the PS4 upgrade to PS4 Pro.

As reported earlier, the UK and the EU are investigating Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, and their investigations found that the next generation of PlayStation, the possible PS6, will not be released until at least 2028, so The PS5 half-generation upgraded model is indeed very likely to be released within the next two years.

A few days ago, news broke that Sony intends to hold a State of Play live event in February or March of this year, followed by a PlayStation Showcase in May of this year.

The latest news suggests that Sony will be releasing a lot of exclusive first-party and third-party game content this year, and the third-party games look very promising, as they will likely be announced in the near future, possibly at the State of Play live event mentioned above.

Well-known uncle party @TheSnitch revealed that Sony PlayStation is about to announce third-party content, but unfortunately, he didn’t offer any hints about the new titles, but this certainly draws players’ attention to the State of Play once again.

In September 2022, Sony brought a lot of high-profile game content to the last State of Play, such as Tekken 8, God of War Twilight, Street Fighter 6, and the PS VR2 project, among others.

But so far, we haven’t seen any rumors about big third-party games other than the rumors of the return of the Alloy Gear series, so you might want to look forward to what Sony will announce next.

Considering that Sony’s PS VR2 will be released on February 22, 2023, we can assume that this State of Play will most likely take place before February 22, and will probably include several VR games, especially the debut of PS VR2 and games in development.

It’s worth mentioning that Microsoft has announced that it will hold an Xbox Direct on January 26 this year, which will bring new content including The Elder Scrolls Online, The Ultimate Racing Series, My World Legends and Red Haze Island, and more.

Sony launched PlayStation 5 console has been more than two years, and Sony in its box marked “4K 120”, 8K and HDR selling points still failed to deliver, and Sony also did not reveal when will support 8K resolution.

FlatPanelsHD recently questioned Sony about this omission from PlayStation 5, but so far Sony has not responded. He argues that while 8K monitors and TVs are less common, Sony shouldn’t use features that its products don’t support as selling points.

“The Touryst” originally supported 8K 60 FPS operation, but because PlayStation 5 does not support 8K resolution, it can only run in 4K 60 FPS mode.

However, today’s console gamers mostly choose to buy 4K 120Hz TVs that support HDR and variable refresh rate technology instead of 8K screens, so 8K TV sales are not very good at present, and mainstream streaming services do not plan to support it in the short term. 8K content. So the lack of 8K resolution on the PlayStation 5 is hardly a serious consequence.

Sony’s new PlayStation 5 console went on sale in select countries in the middle of this month with a new CFI-1202 model that delivers lower operating temperatures and more powerful performance output. Thanks to the AMD Obreon Plus SoC based on TSMC’s 6nm process, the new PS5 is lighter, better cooled and consumes less power.

According to the latest disassembly video shared by foreign oil tube channel Austin Evans (Austion Evan), the veteran techie noticed that the new PS5 is lighter in weight, better heat dissipation and lower power consumption. The new PS5 model is marked as “CFI-1202”, which is better than Sony’s initial PS5 model (CFI-1000/CFI-1001).

Technology media Angstronmics has confirmed that the new Sony PS5 (CFI-1202) is equipped with AMD Oberon Plus processors using TSMC’s 6nm production process. TSMC has made the design rules for its 7nm (N7) process node compatible with the 6nm EUV (N6) node. This allows TSMC partners to easily port existing 7nm chips to the 6nm node without encountering significant complexity. The N6 process node offers an 18.8% increase in transistor density, lower power consumption and thus lower temperature.

That’s why the new Sony PS5 console is lighter and has a smaller heatsink compared to the launch version. But that’s not all, we can also see photos of the new AMD Oberon Plus SOC chip, which sits next to the 7nm Oberon SOC. The new chip measures about 260mm2, which is a 15% reduction in chip size compared to the 7nm Oberon SOC (~300mm2). Another advantage of moving to 6nm is the number of chips that can be produced on a single wafer. The report says that each Oberon Plus SOC wafer can produce about 20% more chips at the same cost.

This means that Sony can offer more Oberon Plus chips for PS5 without compromising on cost, which could further reduce the market shortage that the current console has faced since its launch. TSMC is also reported to be phasing out its 7nm Oberon SOCs in the future and moving completely to 6nm Oberon Plus SOCs, which would increase chip yield per wafer by 50 percent. Microsoft is also expected to use the 6nm process node for its updated Arden SOC for its Xbox Series X gaming console in the future.

New rumours have it that the coming Sony PlayStation 5 redesign will come with a detachable disc drive. This drive will connect to the console via a USB-C port. So, gamers will be able to play both via disc and digitally on just one console.

This new redesign will be a merger between the digital and disc consoles to create a hybrid. Once available, this edition of the Sony PlayStation 5 will do away with the other two consoles by simply playing the role of each perfectly. We know that this is an upgrade that most PlayStation lovers will welcome with arms opened wide.

Ever since the PlayStation 5’s launch, the company have made a few adjustments to the console’s design. These adjustments come in the colour of the plates, overall weight, and so much more. This new redesign that will merge both digital and disc versions of the console into one will become available next year.

According to our sources, the upgrade will hit the market sometime within the third quarter of next year. The pricing of this coming console might fix itself between the price range of the current gaming consoles from Sony. From the performance of sales with this coming Sony PlayStation 5 redesign, the company might drop off producing a digital and disc version separately.
