New rumours have it that the coming Sony PlayStation 5 redesign will come with a detachable disc drive. This drive will connect to the console via a USB-C port. So, gamers will be able to play both via disc and digitally on just one console.
This new redesign will be a merger between the digital and disc consoles to create a hybrid. Once available, this edition of the Sony PlayStation 5 will do away with the other two consoles by simply playing the role of each perfectly. We know that this is an upgrade that most PlayStation lovers will welcome with arms opened wide.
Ever since the PlayStation 5’s launch, the company have made a few adjustments to the console’s design. These adjustments come in the colour of the plates, overall weight, and so much more. This new redesign that will merge both digital and disc versions of the console into one will become available next year.
According to our sources, the upgrade will hit the market sometime within the third quarter of next year. The pricing of this coming console might fix itself between the price range of the current gaming consoles from Sony. From the performance of sales with this coming Sony PlayStation 5 redesign, the company might drop off producing a digital and disc version separately.
