Google today launched a series of humorous Pixel phone ads, mocking Apple’s iPhone as outdated and can’t be compared with the Pixel phone’s new features. With the hashtag “BestPhonesForever,” the ads suggest that Pixel phones are the best phones out there and that iPhones are just what they used to be.

There are five ads in this series. In the “Plateau” ad, the iPhone complains that it’s 14 years old and can’t keep up with the Pixel’s 30x zoom, astral photography and artificial intelligence. The Pixel phone comforts the iPhone, saying that the iPhone still has blue bubbles (referring to the iMessage bubble color). The iPhone exclaims, “Bubbles! Bubbles! Is all I’ve accomplished in this world the color of a bubble? I’ve had millions of people line up for me.” Finally, the iPhone dies, and the Pixel yells: “Quick! Get a Lightning charger!”

In another ad, two phones are looking up at a starry sky, and the iPhone says enviously that it can’t see the stars as clearly as the Pixel, which has a star photography mode. A third ad mocks Apple’s privacy stance on public WiFi, “I’m cracking! Get off public WiFi!” the iPhone says dramatically, “Here’s a… hacker.” The Pixel tells the iPhone not to worry because Pixel phones have a built-in virtual private network to keep them safe, while iPhones don’t.

In the fourth ad, the Pixel phone suggested shooting some videos, only to find that the iPhone was dead again, so the Pixel phone used wireless charging technology to charge the iPhone phone. In the final ad, the iPhone enviously berates the Pixel’s various features, the Pixel shows off its newest feature — the fold, and the iPhone faints in shock. “What year is it? Do we have flying cars?” the iPhone asked.

Google launched the Pixel Fold phone with a folding screen in May this year, priced at $1,800. Apple has yet to launch a smartphone with a folding screen, and there’s no word on when the company plans to launch one.

A federal judge in Seattle ruled Thursday that Apple and Amazon must face a consumer antitrust lawsuit in U.S. courts that accuses Apple of conspiring with Amazon to artificially inflate the prices of iPhones and iPads on the latter’s platform. The judge denied Apple’s and Amazon’s motions to dismiss the lawsuit on various legal grounds.

The lawsuit, filed last November, is one of a number of private and government lawsuits against Amazon’s online pricing practices, and the judge’s ruling means the case will continue with evidence gathering and other pre-trial proceedings.

The plaintiffs are U.S. residents who began buying new iPhones and iPads on Amazon in January 2019. they claim that an agreement reached that year between Apple and Amazon that limits the number of competing sellers violates antitrust provisions.

In 2018, there were about 600 Apple third-party resellers on Amazon, the lawsuit says. Apple agreed to give discounts on Amazon’s products if Amazon reduced the number of Apple resellers on its marketplace, the lawsuit says.

Apple argues that its agreement with Amazon was designed to reduce the number of counterfeit Apple goods sold on the e-commerce platform. Apple’s lawyers said in court papers that such agreements are “common” and said “the Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals have routinely held that such agreements are pro-competitive and lawful.

The Seattle judge said the “motivation” for the agreement would be addressed in a subsequent lawsuit.

Apple reported sales of $94.8 billion in the second quarter, while Amazon reported revenue of $127.4 billion in its most recent quarterly earnings report.

The plaintiff seeks unspecified treble damages and other relief.

Hatton Smith recently shared a video on his TikTok showing an iPhone with a protective case falling from 14,000 feet (about 4267.20 meters), but still undamaged and still working properly.

Smith recently jumped out of a window during a high-altitude skydive, and then the iPhone in his pocket accidentally flew out.

Smith said the iPhone should have free-fell at over 100 mph and was later recovered through Find My.

The fact that it still works is largely due to luck, starting with the fact that the iPhone was wearing a rugged Catalyst case and that it hit the ground not on rock or concrete, but on muddy, soft ground.

Several engineers have previously changed the iPhone’s Lightning connector to a USB-C connector, and now one engineer has had the bright idea to build a dual-interface iPhone, adding a USB-C connector to the original Lightning connector.

YouTube blogger Hyphaistos3672 modified an iPhone 12 mini to put a USB-C port on the side of the Lightning port, creating a dual-port iPhone. To accomplish this feat, they took the iPhone apart, cut a hole in the bottom, placed the new USB-C port, connected it to the cable of the existing hardware, and put it back together.

The blogger ended up with a dual-port iPhone, both of which are also fully functional, and of which can successfully connect the iPhone to iTunes.

While a two-port iPhone may seem odd, one user pointed out that one of the benefits of this dual-port design, “you can now use headphones and charge at the same time, just like in 2016.” The netizen was referring to the iPhone 7’s elimination of the headphone jack, which has caused some problems for iPhone users who are keen on using wired headphones.

Apple is currently under pressure to switch the iPhone to the USB-C interface, as EU regulations, finalized in October 2022, will force smartphones to use a universal charging interface or USB-C, and India intends to follow suit.

Bloomberg reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Apple plans to phase out Broadcom’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips in 2025 in favor of its own chip design.

Apple has been trying to get rid of its dependence on other chip makers, for example, the latest Mac computers have begun to fully adopt its own M series chips to replace Intel processors.

According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to replace Broadcom’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips with its own chips. Apple did not respond to a request for comment.

Apple iPhone 15

Apple, a major Broadcom customer, accounts for about 20 percent of Broadcom’s revenue. After the news, Broadcom’s shares closed down 2 percent.

Stacy Rasgon, an analyst at financial services firm AB Bernstein, said Apple’s decision to phase out Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips could cut Broadcom’s revenue by about $1 billion to $1.5 billion. However, he added, Broadcom’s radio frequency (RF) chips are complex to design and manufacture and are unlikely to be replaced in the near term.

In addition, there is a cliché that Apple is also looking to replace Qualcomm’s 5G baseband chips, reporting that by the end of 2024 or early 2025, Apple will switch to its own baseband chips.

In a video recently released by Apple, the company shared 10 tips for using the iPhone. These tips, which some new iPhone users may not have used before, can help customers make the most of their devices.

The video was released by Apple on Christmas Day of this year, and the entire video is less than 6 minutes long.

  1. Click and hold on to the subject in a photo in the Photos app on iOS 16, and you can key the subject out of the photo and put it into another app.
  2. iOS 16’s new lock screen allows users to customize different elements, including time and date colors and styles, add widgets, and more. The video describes switching between different lock screen wallpaper styles. (Thanks to the enthusiastic users who pointed out the comments)

Within Settings->Wi-Fi, opening a saved Wi-Fi access point allows you to copy and paste its password. The video shows how to view the Wi-Fi cleartext password. 4.

  1. If you often write the same thing over and over again, like your email or address, you can create a text replacement in Settings-> General-> Keyboard-> Text Replacement.
  2. If your battery is low or you want to save some battery life if you can’t use the charger, you can add a low power mode in the Control Center to make it easier to use. Go to “Settings” -> “Control Center” and add it to the “Included controls” list. 6.

If you want to share or move multiple photos to another app, just tap and hold a photo, move it out of the way, and then continue to tap other photos. Then you can drag and drop all your photos into other apps or places on iOS. 7.

  1. If you want to quickly open your camera, tap the Camera shortcut in the lower-right corner of the iPhone lock screen. The video explains how to quickly open the camera by swiping left on the lock screen. 8.
  2. In iOS 15 and later, you can now use Live Text to automatically translate text in the Camera app or in photos. In the Camera app, point the camera at some text, tap Live Text that appears in the upper-right corner, and then select Translate from the options that appear. This also works for photos that have already been taken in the Photos app.
  3. Using the Notes app, you can easily scan a piece of paper and create a digital copy of it. The Notes app will automatically crop and edit the image correctly so that the document looks clear and easy to read with no glare.
  4. In the Photos app, just tap the top edge of your iPhone to jump to the first photo in any particular library, album, or search result.

Apple launched a digital car key feature in 2020, iPhone or Apple Watch users in close proximity to the door position can automatically unlock, and some compatible models also support automatic ignition start engine.

This digital car key feature is stored in the Apple Wallet app like a credit card, but at this stage, only a small number of models such as BMW, Kia and Genesys support the feature.

Apple continues to strengthen its collaboration with organizations like the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to establish industry standards for sharing digital keys across platforms. Apple today announced that iPhone users can share their digital car keys from Apple Wallet to Pixel phone users via text, email and WhatsApp apps. It’s as simple as selecting your car keys in Apple Wallet and clicking “Share.

Apple said it is working with Google to promote the feature, and any future Android phone running Android 12 and above will be able to receive digital car keys shared from Apple users.

KDE Gear will improve file access to Apple devices like iPhone and iPad in a version update to be released next year. Several existing KDE implementations can already access files on iOS devices, but the KDE team has announced that it will merge the latest KIO code to compile for this feature.

The rewritten KIO code supports the Apple File Conduit (AFC) service on iOS devices and has been merged into the kio-extras module, which will be integrated into the KDE Gear release in the future.

These new AFC codes in kio-extras are written based on the latest KIO classes that support the latest file access methods when iPhone / iPad devices are connected to the KDE desktop environment via USB. This feature allows access to shared files via the House Arrest API, in addition to files in the regular file system.

KDE Gear version 22.12 entered the feature freeze phase on November 10, and the official version is expected to be released on December 8. KDE Gear 23.04, which supports Apple File Conduit KIO, is expected to be released in April 2023.

The KDE Gear is a set of applications and support libraries developed by the KDE community, primarily for use on Linux-based operating systems, but mostly for multiple platforms, and released under a public release schedule. The package consists of more than 100 applications. Examples of applications highlighted in the bundle include Dolphin, a file manager, Okular, a document viewer, Kate, a text editor, Ark, an archiving tool, and Konsole, a terminal emulator.

According to Reuters, Indian government officials familiar with the matter said that Apple supplier Foxconn plans to increase the number of employees at its iPhone factory in India by 53,000 within two years, thereby increasing the number of employees at its southern Indian factory to 10,000. 70,000 people. Both Foxconn and Apple declined to comment.

Recent supply chain disruptions at Foxconn prompted Apple this week to lower its forecast for shipments of the iPhone 14 Pro line of models, dampening sales prospects during the busy year-end holiday season.

Foxconn opened its India facility in 2019 and has been ramping up production, starting with the iPhone 14 series this year. Foxconn is known to be interested in expanding the facility, but has not previously announced the size or timeline of the planned expansion.

A government source in India said that Foxconn Tamil Nadu will accelerate its plans to hire at the Indian plant. Also in addition to the iPhone, the plant makes products for other global technology companies, but the new hiring is primarily to meet growing demand for iPhone production.

On Oct. 27, India’s state investment promotion department said senior government officials had traveled to meet with Hon Hai Chairman Liu Yangwei to “discuss in detail Foxconn’s new venture and investment plans” and to offer government support.

The state is holding discussions with suppliers to address issues such as worker housing facilities as it looks to expand, the officials said.

Two government sources added that officials in Tamil Nadu, an electronics and automotive manufacturing hub, are also pushing Apple suppliers to expand into manufacturing components for the iPhone, rather than just assembling them.

Currently, the Indian iPhone is being assembled by at least three Apple global suppliers: Foxconn and PEGATRON in Tamil Nadu; and Wistron in the nearby state of Karnataka.

Analysts at JPMorgan Chase predicted in September that Apple could produce two-quarters of the world’s iPhones in India by 2025 and that 25 percent of all Apple products, including Macs, iPads, Apple Watches and AirPods, will be made overseas by 2025, up from 5 percent today.

On October 18, 2007, an unopened 2007 iPhone went for $39,339.60 at an LCG (London Capital Group) auction, according to foreign media reports.

The auction ended on Sunday afternoon. The 8GB version of the original iPhone was reportedly priced at $599, and 15 years later it is now worth 65 times that amount.

The original iPhone reportedly had a 3.5-inch screen, a 2-megapixel camera and a web browser. 15 years ago, when the late Steve Jobs, Apple’s co-founder and CEO, first introduced the product, he called it “an iPod, a mobile phone and an Internet communicator all rolled into one. “.

The auction house says that this first-generation iPhone in its sealed condition is very special and valuable, and it is this characteristic that makes it such a popular collector’s item.
