343 Industries recently released a trailer, announcing that the fifth season of the “Halo: Infinite” game “Reckoning” will begin on October 17th.

Sources tell Seasoned Gaming editor-in-chief Ains that a team at 343 Industries is planning a single-player campaign storyline for the next Halo game.

In other words, 343 Studios has already started working on the next “Halo” main game, and sources also revealed that the next “Halo” game will use the Unreal 5 engine instead of its own engine. This is also part of an overall reorganization of 343 Studios.

Of course, “Halo: Infinite” has not been abandoned yet, and 343 still has some employees who continue to update and maintain the game.

It noticed that these messages are consistent with the statement of Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier in early 2023, when he discussed how 343 was hit by Microsoft’s layoffs. Following the departure of studio founder Bonnie Ross, 343 restructured its operations, bringing in Master Chief Collection head Pierre Hintze to take Ross’s place, and plans to build the next generation of Halo titles on Unreal Engine.

Are you asking if I have any news about a new Halo game? The short answer is no concrete information. But I can say that, indeed, they do have a team working on the next Halo. This is part of a restructured effort to develop the next generation of Halo on Unreal Engine.

The next big Halo game is said to be a unique “mashup” project, something like a cross between a battle royale game and a run-and-gun shooter, codenamed Tatanka (possibly a reference to the Lakota word for buffalo ).

The game will be co-developed by Certain Affinity, a studio that already has a lot of experience developing Halo.

According to the latest “Halo: Infinite” game screenshot shared by the source @BathrobeSpartan, it shows that the popular Firefight PvE mode will soon be introduced into the game.

According to leaked screenshots, Halo: Infinite’s gunfire mode allows players to customize waves and maps, and it can also use artificial intelligence to add them to multiplayer modes.

Players will be able to set up the Firefight mode experience in the large arena of the “House of Reckoning” campaign level, and can also use it on other multiplayer maps.

Note: The development of the bullet rain mode is inspired by the team mode of “Gears of War 2”. Four people can fight against wave after wave of “Star Alliance” enemies through system connection, split screen connection or Xbox Live network connection.

The development documents of the “Halo: Infinite” game have recently flowed out on the Internet, showing the progress of the game development of the studio 343 Industries, and which studios have been outsourced to which content.

Specifically, the document focuses on creating cinematic narrative cutscenes and is positioned as a guide for developers using 343.

The guide details the cutscene creation process, how 343 split the work with other studios, and more. More detailed documentation can be found here.

It was previously reported that “Halo” did not appear in this presentation, and Xbox helm Phil Spencer explained in the latest interview that he was unwilling to force 343 Industries’ studio Developers, without adequate preparation, to share their long-term vision.

The game studio 343 Industries recently previewed the updated content of the “Halo: Infinite” game, saying that it will introduce an FPS counter for the Xbox version to help Forge users make higher-quality maps.

343 Industries says a game update coming on May 10 redesigns the Disruptor to be easier to use, it reduces damage over time but gains a higher rate of fire and super combo damage.

It is learned from reports that the update also tweaks the Spike grenade, increasing the number of spikes the weapon has but reducing the area of effect damage.

Xbox console players will get an FPS counter, primarily for Forge users, allowing them to closely monitor map performance as they build to ensure they maintain a smooth experience.

Halo developer 343 Industries has lost at least 95 people due to recent layoffs at Microsoft, and the studio is switching from its proprietary Slipspace engine to Epic Games’ Unreal engine for future games, Bloomberg reports.

The future of Halo has been somewhat up in the air since layoffs were announced on Jan. 18. Halo: Infinite launched strongly at the end of 2021, but as time went on, players became frustrated with the progress of the multiplayer, with planned features such as online campaign co-op and Forge (which finally launched in November) repeatedly delayed, and no sign of new campaign content on the horizon.

The 343 had issued a statement to continue developing the Halo game after the layoffs. on January 21, the studio’s head Pierre Hintze tweeted from his Halo account, saying, “Halo and Sergeant Major are here to stay. 343 Industries continues to develop Halo now and in the future. including the epic story, multiplayer, and more of the things that make Halo great.” And Matt Boody, who heads up Xbox Game Studios, said in an interview with Bloomberg, “343 will continue as the in-house developer of Halo and as the home of Halo.”

But it’s unclear when we’ll see the next game in the series, so it’s hard to know exactly how involved 343 will be with the series in the future. For example, the studio has partnered with Austin-based Certain Affinity on a combat game codenamed Tatanka, but that game “could go in a different direction.

Bloomberg says that Tatanka will apparently also be developed on the Unreal engine, and that future Halo games “will also explore using” the Unreal engine. If true, the change marks another major game developer moving to the Unreal engine, with “The Witcher” and “Cyberpunk” developer CD Projekt Red announcing in March a “multi-year strategic partnership” with Epic Games to use the Unreal engine, and in November, Epic In November, Epic said more than half of all announced next-gen games would be made in the Unreal engine.

343 is also apparently not working on new story content for Halo: Infinite, which seems ironic for a game that was once called “the beginning of the next decade for Halo” and named “Infinite. Instead, the developers are “working on prototypes in the Unreal Engine and coming up with ideas for a new Halo game.

Chip giant AMD has revealed that the long-promised “Halo: Infinite” will finally support ray tracing.

In today’s AMD conference livestream, AMD revealed that ray tracing for Halo Infinite is in development and will be available to PC players at the start of the game’s third season in March of next year.

Back in 2020, Microsoft promised that the latest version of its competitive shooter, Halo: Infinite, would feature ray tracing, but it hasn’t been able to deliver on that promise. Ray tracing is a technique for creating physics-based lighting that can add vibrancy and realism to game scenes.

In the livestream, AMD showed off its ray tracing technology for Halo: Infinite, which provides ray-traced shadows for large-scale team fights and arena modes, and the game features an enhanced performance on the RDNA 3 GPU of AMD’s new graphics card, the Radeon RX 7000. Better shadows and lighting effects.

The new ray tracing feature is said to be coming to Halo Infinite Season 3, which is expected to launch sometime next year. The next major Halo Infinite update, dubbed the Winter Update, will bring a slew of improvements, including the long-awaited Forge mode.

Microsoft’s “Horizon 5” also announced that ray tracing is also on the way.
