Ferrari plans to launch its first all-electric car in the last quarter of 2025 and will open a new production site in Maranello, Italy, in June dedicated to making electric motors, battery packs and power inverters.

Ferrari predicts that around 60% of its sales will come from pure electric and hybrid cars by 2026, as it aims to carve out market share with a range of high-performance electric supercars.

Wigner told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe” on Tuesday that the company will continue to focus on performance, design and driving experience in its electric vehicle lineup, insisting that “electric vehicles are not completely silent.”

He said: “When we talk about luxury cars like Ferrari, we’re talking about the emotion that can be conveyed to the customer, so we’re not just making a functional electric car, unlike other electric cars you see on the road. We honestly have no doubt that we can deliver a unique experience to our customers because we can leverage technology in unique ways. That’s what our company has been doing from the beginning.”

Although a typical electric drivetrain is almost silent, Ferrari engineers are developing “sound signatures” for its electric cars to replicate the signature roar of the gas engines that have powered its sports cars since 1947.

Ferrari shares are off to a strong start in 2024, with shares up nearly 29% so far and a 59% surge last year. The company hit its highest revenue in history last year, with annual net profit increasing 34% and exceeding 1 billion euros for the first time (Note: currently about 7.84 billion RMB).

Maranello’s Prancing Horse and V12 naturally aspirated engine are inseparable. According to reports, Ferrari’s new V12 model will be officially released on May 2, 2024. This car will continue to be equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine.

As the successor of the Ferrari 812 , this car maintains a strong GT sports car attitude, with a slender front and muscular lines, hiding strong strength. It has a sharp front end, surrounded by a large opening at the bottom, and has a large wind impact area.

Coming to the sides and rear, the slightly angled A-pillars, fastback roof, and low body are full of sportiness. The rear of the car has a ducktail shape, and the rear surround is very plump, integrating a rear diffuser and four-outlet exhaust.

As for the power system, the 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine equipped in the new car has new adjustments, and the maximum power may reach 838 horsepower. In 2024, Ferrari will also launch the successor of LaFerrari, which will use a V6 twin-turbocharged engine with hybrid power.

Recently, we have obtained a wave of real pictures of the Ferrari 296 GT3 car model. The car model is 1:8 scale, with a limited production of 199 units, and the official price is US$18,090 (approximately RMB 129,100), which is even $845 more expensive than a daily Versa model that can really hit the road. Even if converted into RMB, its price is enough to keep up with a mainstream compact family sedan.

It can be seen that in addition to restoring the actual car design, the car model even has a perfect replica of the classic Ferrari red color scheme. In addition, the reason why it can have such an expensive price is the exquisiteness of the details. In terms of size, its length reaches 22 inches (55.88 cm).

The high production cost is also one of the reasons why it has such an outrageous selling price. First of all, the designer needs to use various molds to create the parts of this car model. The whole process takes 3,000 hours. After all the parts are completed, the car model The assembly process takes another 300 hours. Of course, you can open the door to appreciate the layout of the car, but it is a pity that the engine compartment cannot be opened, and we cannot take a look at the twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

Recently, we obtained a set of spy photos of the Ferrari 812 successor model from foreign media. The new car will continue to be equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine, which can output maximum power that may exceed the 829 horsepower of the Ferrari 812 Competizione. It is reported that the appearance of the car has certain similarities with the Purosangue and will be officially released in 2024.

In terms of appearance, the new car still maintains the same GT sports car proportions as the 812. The slender and flat front of the car combined with the bulging muscle lines of the fenders on both sides reveals a strong visual impact even under camouflage. The headlight unit may be similar to the Purosangue style, adopting a split and slender shape. The front apron provides a huge wind impact area, ensuring sufficient heat dissipation performance and chassis downforce of the vehicle.

On the side of the body, the car still maintains a very dynamic shape. The small-angle A-pillar windshield and the fastback shape of the rear create a full visual effect at the rear. In the rear part of the car, the overall outline can see the shadow of the 812 model, but the overall center of gravity feels lower. The duck-tail-shaped rear line and the powerful rear fender make the rear of the car look wider, solid and spacious. There are four exhaust outlets on both sides below. Although there is currently no shape to speak of, it still reveals its leadership temperament as Ferrari’s flagship GT.

In terms of power, it is expected that the new car will be further improved compared to the 812 Competizione, and may exceed 830 horsepower. Refer to the Ferrari 812 Competizione model, which is equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 engine with a maximum speed of 9500rpm, a maximum power of 829 horsepower/9250rpm, a maximum torque of 692 N·m/7000rpm, and it only takes 2.85 seconds to accelerate from 0-100km/h.

On June 11 this year, Ferrari 499P completed 342 laps in the 91st Le Mans 24 Hours Endurance Race and won the Le Mans championship. This was Ferrari’s first victory since 1965. First victory in the competition in years.

Ferrari has announced a new version of its Le Mans-winning supercar – the 499P Modificata, which is even better than the Le Mans-winning car. The Ferrari 499P Modificata is very similar to the 499P in appearance, with a starting price of 5.1 million euros before tax (the current price is about RMB 39.423 million).

The 499P Modificata is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine with a maximum output of 520kW (700hp) and an electric motor on the front axle. This hybrid system can achieve a “push to pass” boost of up to 7 seconds and can provide a further 120 kW (approximately 160 horsepower) of power, for a total power of approximately 640 kW (860 horsepower).

The extra power is only available when the throttle is pushed to full throttle and the duration of each activation is no longer than 7 seconds. The maximum number of activations per lap depends on the track type and battery energy balance: the system automatically deactivates below a certain charge threshold and then reactivates when energy returns to charge the battery to the appropriate level.

The car has undergone a complete recalibration of suspension settings, electronic controls and engine mapping, and rides on bespoke Pirelli tires instead of the Michelin tires used in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The 499P Modificata retains the 499P’s cockpit, single-seat layout and ergonomics, giving owners exactly the same driving experience as those experienced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Bloomberg — Ferrari’s head of marketing and commerce has revealed that it has begun accepting cryptocurrency payments for its luxury sports cars in the U.S., with plans to expand the program to Europe in response to requests from wealthy customers, according to a Reuters report.

The vast majority of blue-chip companies have shunned cryptocurrencies because the volatility of Bitcoin and other tokens is impractical for business. Imperfect regulation and high energy consumption have also hindered the spread of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.

Tesla began accepting Bitcoin payments in 2021, but Musk stopped the payment method due to environmental concerns.

Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s chief marketing and commercial officer, said the cryptocurrency has been used to minimize its carbon footprint by introducing new software and greater use of renewable energy sources, and that “our goal is to be carbon neutral across the value chain by 2030.”

Ferrari said the decision was in response to the market and dealers, as many of its customers have invested in cryptocurrencies.

“Some are young investors who have accumulated wealth through cryptocurrencies,” he said. “Others are more traditional investors who want to diversify their portfolios.”

Samsung Display Co., the display division of Samsung Electronics, announced Tuesday that it has signed an OLED display supply agreement with Ferrari that will help the Italian luxury automaker with its digital transformation.

The two companies held a ceremony at Samsung Display’s Ansan campus, 83 kilometers from Seoul, to exchange a memorandum of understanding in which Samsung Display will supply automotive OLED displays to Ferrari.

Samsung Display has already supplied OLED displays to Hyundai’s IONIQ and Audi’s e-tron models and has been ramping up the development of next-generation automotive displays and expanding partnerships with global automakers.

At CES 2023, the company is showcasing the New Digital Cockpit, a curved automotive digital cockpit that combines a 34-inch display with a 15.6-inch display that the company says provides the best viewing experience in driving mode and helps drivers focus on the road. The Korean company is also reportedly in talks with BMW for a similar supply contract.

Ferrari expects higher sales and profits this year after a record performance in 2022, driven by demand in the Americas and China, boosting strong demand for high-margin model expectations.

Ferrari said adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization will be as high as 2.18 billion euros (currently about 16.045 billion CNY) this year, up from 2 billion euros announced in April. Ferrari also reported sales and operating profit for the fourth quarter, beating analysts’ expectations.

Ferrari’s adjusted Ebitda (profit before tax) in the fourth quarter increased to 469 million euros (currently about 3.452 billion CNY), exceeding analysts’ average estimate of 451 million euros. Revenue climbed to 1.37 billion euros (currently about 10.083 billion CNY), slightly higher than analysts’ forecast of 1.29 billion euros. Sales of Ferrari cars rose by nearly a fifth last year, with growth strongest in China and the Americas.

However, only 22 percent of Ferrari’s 2022 sales will be hybrids, with the rest being internal combustion engine vehicles. The first all-electric Ferrari is expected to launch in 2025, with battery-only and plug-in hybrid models expected to dominate Ferrari’s product portfolio after 2025.

HARMAN Automotive, a subsidiary of Samsung, announced this week that it has partnered with the Italian supercar brand Ferrari on Ready Upgrade technology.

Harman Automotive said it will work intensively with Ferrari on several fronts to bring the latter an in-car experience with Ready Upgrade hardware and software. Ready Upgrade will allow Ferrari customers the ability to update and personalize features and services with greater flexibility, just like a smartphone.

Harman Automotive Ready Upgrade provides complete software and hardware support that enables frequent and efficient in-car interface updates. It is designed to give vehicles a longer lifecycle and shorten the development cycle for automakers.

In addition to the partnership to enable an upgradable in-car experience for Ferrari’s road vehicles, HARMAN also announced that it is now an in-car experience team partner of Scuderia Ferrari.

Beginning with the 2023 season, HARMAN will be the exclusive in-car experience partner of the Ferrari Formula 1 team. Only the extent of this partnership is not currently detailed by the two companies. It is unclear if Harman Automotive is a sponsor or what technology the company will provide.

The new Ferrari is a fine blend of a luxury SUV and a performance vehicle with a touch of smart features. Yes, this is an SUV, and it is the first of its kind from its manufacturer. Over the years Ferrari has stuck to the production of pure luxury sport performance cars, so, it is great to see an SUV from the brand.

How does this new vehicle hold up in terms of performance and overall design? We will start with the performance of this vehicle and then move on to its design. Like regular sports vehicles such as the Ferrari 812 GTS, this new SUV comes with a 6.5-litre V12 engine, assuring peak performance and a maximum power of 725CV.

With its engine, this vehicle offers 80% of the maximum torque with a peak of 716 Nm at 6250rpm. Ferrari says that this SUV will hit 62mph in only 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 193mph. These are some claims or features that bring this SUV in close competition with regular sport performance vehicles.

This vehicle comes with a unique design that looks quite futuristic because it lacks a grill common with other fuel-driven cars. Another interesting feature of this vehicle is its doors which swing open in opposite directions, commonly known as suicide doors. This type of door is also on the Rolls-Royce Cullinan along with some other luxury vehicles.

On its interior, we have a complete work of art, luxury at its finest. Its interior features include a 10.25-inch screen infotainment system, which finds itself toward the passenger’s seat. All four seats are heated and independently adjustable. There is so much going on in the Ferrari Purosangue and the manufacturer knows so well to place its price at $400,000. Even if the specifications or design of this car didn’t drop your jaws, then its price will do just that.
