Apple supplier Hon Hai will reportedly switch iPhone 14 production lines to iPhone 14 Pro models due to strong demand. Most suppliers should also receive increased orders for the iPhone 14 Pro models in the coming weeks. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this means that shipments of these devices will increase by about 10% in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Reports of strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro model have come from all angles. Analysis by investment bank Morgan Stanley shows that the iPhone 14 cycle is stronger than expected using data on lead times and pre-orders.
In the US, the iPhone 14 Pro Max had the longest delivery time of any model released within a similar time frame after its debut in the last six years, at 36.5 days.
The iPhone 14 Pro had the third longest lead time of any model in the same timeframe at 29.5 days. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 had a lead time of six days, indicating a low level of interest in the model.
Demand for the iPhone 14 Pro is equally strong, according to investment bank JP Morgan, which says it has an average lead time of 35 days and the iPhone 14 Pro Max 41 days. iPhone 14 Plus lead times are currently at 21 days.
New features on the iPhone 14 Pro models include a 48-megapixel camera sensor with a wide-angle lens, an always-on display and a spirited island that replaces the bangs. They seem to be enough to drive sales.
