Sony financial data show that as of December 31, 2022, the PlayStation 5 has shipped 32.1 million units worldwide. In the previous three months, PlayStation 5 shipments totaled 7.1 million units, up 3.1 million units from the same period last fiscal year.
PlayStation Plus subscriptions were 46.4 million as of December 31, 2022, down 1.6 million from 48 million in the same period last fiscal year, and PlayStation Network monthly active users were 112 million, up 1 million from 111 million active users in the same period last fiscal year.
In addition, for the three months ended December 31, 2022, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software sales totaled 86.5 million units, down 6.2 million units from 92.7 million units in the prior year period.
Of these units, 20.8 million were first-party games, up 9.5 million units from 11.3 million units in the prior year period. 62 percent of software sales were complete digital downloads of game software, which was unchanged from the prior year.
