Sonic Frontiers Unknown Supports AMD FSR Technology on Nintendo Switch

0

Another NS game that supports AMD FSR technology is about to be launched after “Nintendo Switch Sports”, “Sprague 3” and “Life is Strange: True Color”.

Twitter user @Naruki digs into the often overlooked intellectual property claims and found that the Sonic Frontiers pre-order version mentions references to FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR).

It remains to be seen how Sonic Frontiers will use the FSR, but it’s certainly hoped that Sega will use it to give Switch players more performance without drastically degrading the visuals. But strangely, Sega has not confirmed the use of DLSS, FSR technology on other more powerful platforms.

It’s worth mentioning that while none of Nintendo’s first-party games seem to use this technology, Life is Strange: True Color does take advantage of it and manages to squeeze the desktop out of the Switch. Platform 1080p consistent 30fps performance.

“Sonic Unknown Frontier” will be released on November 8, 2022, supports simplified Chinese, and will be available on PlayStation 5/4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One / Series X|S, PC (Steam) platforms.
