September 19 news, according to foreign media reports, according sources, Samsung’s system LSI business unit plans to get more OLED display driver chip capacity from UMC next year, because its main customers have high demand for the product.

According to foreign media reports, OLED display driver chips are not only used in mid-to-high-end mobile phones but will also penetrate into more applications such as pens and TVs.

In addition to OLED display driver chips, UMC also OEMs CMOS image sensors for Samsung. In April last year, foreign media reported that Samsung and UMC had signed an image sensor foundry agreement.

In March this year, industry sources revealed that UMC and Samsung had agreed on a higher offer for a new long-term foundry contract.
