Despite not being as famous as the flagship Galaxy S series, Samsung Electronics has been actively expanding its line of more affordable smartphones. Today, for example, the Korean electronics giant quietly launched the new Galaxy A04e entry-level model. As a new member of the Galaxy “A04” family, the lowercase “e” in the model name means it’s more affordable than the Galaxy A04 / A04s launched in August / September.

The Galaxy A04e features a 6.5-inch @ HD+ resolution PLS LCD touchscreen, an octa-core SoC (said to be MediaTek Helio G35), and 3/4GB RAM + 32/64/128GB ROM storage.

In terms of connectivity, the device only supports 4G LTE (no 5G), 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (no 5 GHz band). The battery capacity is 5000 mAh and comes preloaded with a lite version of One UI Core 4.1 software based on Android 12.

For photography, the Galaxy A04e offers a combination of 5 MP front and 13 MP main + 2 MP depth sensor (no macro lens) on the rear.

It measures 164.2 x 75.9 x 9.1 mm and weighs 188g. The exterior is available in Black, Light Blue and Copper.

Compared to the Galaxy A04 model, the A04e has a lower main camera resolution and RAM starting capacity, and the screen refresh rate is 90 vs 60 Hz.

Finally, as the entry SKU in the lineup, the Galaxy A04e will undoubtedly be priced more affordably. Unfortunately, the company has not yet disclosed the exact price and launch date.
