Samsung Korea P3 foundry clean room project construction has been postponed from the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2022 to the end of the fourth quarter, and from the end of the fourth quarter to the first quarter of 2023. This has also caused the introduction of subsequent ancillary equipment and manufacturing equipment to be delayed. It is reported that the Samsung P3 generation plant in mid-2020 began construction, construction area of 700,000 square meters, the largest area of Samsung’s global scale of factories.

TheElec has learned that Samsung will complete the construction of its new P3 fab next year. The tech giant had planned to complete construction within this year.

The NAND production line construction was also pushed back by a month.

The sources added that the one-month delay has pushed back the schedule for other phases.

Samsung’s P3 foundry is a hybrid plant, meaning it will produce both memory and logic chips. The clean room for the DRAM line in the plant has already been completed, and the clean room for the NAND line is expected to be completed and operational in the first quarter of 2023.
