Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 specifications leaked; Snapdragon 8 Gen2, 50MP camera

On August 10th, 2022, Samsung will reportedly host its Galaxy Unpacked event. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 smartphones are expected to be released. Even though the launch is still quite some time off, we have already begun to hear rumours about the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 ahead of the Z Fold 4’s launch.

We are still a long way from the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s scheduled release date of next year. Even the Z Fold 4, the model that preceded the Z Fold 5, hasn’t even been formally introduced. Some of the device’s important specifications have been leaked in the most recent report on the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 specifications (rumours)

A South Korean publication, ET News, has shared a report on the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5. According to the report, the device will launch in 2023 and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset will be a successor to the most recent Snapdragon 8 Gen1. The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset is expected to get launched by this year’s end.

They have further said that the device will have a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixels Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM3 primary camera. The secondary and tertiary sensor is expected to be the ultrawide and telephoto sensor respectively. It will have a 12-megapixels front-facing camera.

Samsung aims to supply more than 10 million Z Fold 5 and Z Flip S units in the second half of 2023, according to the report. Additionally, it is presumed that the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 will each sell 2 million and 8 million units, respectively. More details about the device are yet to get revealed. We have plenty of time left since the launch of the device.
