Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 opens in Android 13, One UI 5 Beta testing overseas

0

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 have recently received their first Android 13 / One UI 5 Beta, after the Samsung Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 have also been in testing. Now it’s the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2’s turn to try out Android 13 and One UI 5.

This could be the last major system update for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2, which launched with Android 10 pre-installed and is scheduled to receive three major software updates. (The next generation of folding screen phones supports four major software updates). The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 will continue to receive security patches, and Samsung has committed to supporting security updates for four years, until the end of 2024.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 One UI 5 Beta is rolling out the Korean version head-on but should reach other markets soon. In the Korean region, both SIM-free and carrier-version phones are eligible for the update.

The users can sign up for the Beta using the Samsung Membership app, but be aware that there may be some serious buggy bugs, plus rolling back to a stable Android 12 requires a full refresh, so remember to back up your data before you start.
