Russia launches Soyuz-2.1b rocket with Cosmos-2564 satellite

The Russian Air Force launched a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket carrying a spacecraft belonging to the Russian Defense Ministry from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome on Nov. 28, the Russian Defense Ministry said Monday. The satellite’s serial number is Cosmos-2564.

Russia last launched such satellites with Soyuz-2.1b from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome on Nov. 2.

On October 22, Russia also launched the first satellite of the Sphere orbital group, Skif-D, and three Gonets-M satellites on the Soyuz 2.1b rocket from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. This was the first launch from this spaceport in 2022 and the first Soyuz-2.1b launch mission using new fuel.
