ReMarkable 2 is an E Ink e-paper tablet with a 10.3-inch ink display, a pressure-sensitive pen with tilt detection and a high-friction marker tip for a paper-like reading and writing experience. The tablet is priced at $299 (Currently about 2081 RMB).
Handwriting is suitable for taking notes quickly, annotating documents or drawing pictures, but it is not as efficient as keyboard input and typing. reMarkable released the new Type Folio keyboard, which is now available as an optional $199 (currently about 1385 RMB) accessory.
The keyboard transforms e-paper tablets originally designed for reading, handwriting and drawing into a portable typing device that users can easily use to compose longer documents and get a focused writing experience. The reMarkable 2 + Type Folio keyboard form a 2-in-1 tablet design for a more versatile experience.
In addition, reMarkable’s stylus “marker” is also sold separately, and you need to pay an additional $79 (currently about 550 RMB) to $129 (currently about 898 RMB) to get a complete Tablet + keyboard + stylus experience.
The Type Folio keyboard attaches magnetically to the reMarkable 2 tablet and can be adjusted in two positions: a “traditional typing position” or a “near-flat position,” making it easy to temporarily stop typing, pick up the stylus, and start without repositioning the keyboard Handwritten notes.
The accessory doesn’t have any batteries and doesn’t need to be charged or paired wirelessly with the tablet. Type Folio works just fine when connected.
The keyboard has 1.3 mm of key travel, supports six language layouts (US-English, UK-English, German, Spanish, French, and Nordic), and comes in Jet Black and Sepia color options.
The keyboard has a faux leather exterior, and the Type Folio measures 246 x 198 x 6.6 mm (9.7 inches x 7.8 inches x 0.3 inches) and weighs 453 grams.
The reMarkable 2 tablet has a 10.3-inch, 1872 x 1404 pixel E Ink Carta display with multi-point capacitive touch input, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of LDDR3 memory, 8GB of storage, and a custom Linux-based operating system.
