The game was announced by Ubisoft in April 2022 under the codename “Project Q”, a team-based arena game for PS, Xbox and PC platforms. According to the latest news, the game has been axed.

Ubisoft announced on 12 January that it was changing its internal strategy, including the cancellation of three unannounced development projects, due to the failure of recently released content to meet expectations.

Recently, Ubisoft representatives confirmed to Engadget that one of the games being axed is “Project Q”. With the cancellation of Project Q, Ubisoft will focus more on its core IPs such as Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six. As for the other two games that have been axed, there’s not much news yet.

As previously reported, Tipster Tom Henderson has revealed live demo footage of the game, and as you can see from the images, the game looks a bit like Fortnite in terms of graphics, while the gameplay leans more towards Smash.

In addition, Ubisoft has once again delayed the release date of Aqua Black Sails and is now aiming for an early 2023-24 release, the sixth time it has jumped the gun.
