In a tweet, Porsche affirmed their resolution to continue the production of fuel-driven sports cars. This doesn’t mean the company is giving up on the electric vehicle race. Already, the company has a few electric cars to its name, but it won’t give up production of fuel cars anytime soon.

The Porsche Taycan and Cayenne are some of the company’s electric and hybrid vehicles. The 911 and 718 are some of its fuel-driven vehicles, which the company promises to continue producing. The transition to all-electric vehicles for the company will come in the years ahead.

Only 41,296 vehicles out of 300,000 deliveries from the company in 2021 were pure electric. This shows that there is still a need for fuel cars around the world. The presence of EVs is gradually growing in the sports car market. But, until they are mostly available or in high demand, Porsche will keep up with fuel-driven cars.

According to the company’s CEO, they will work on both fuel and electric vehicles. In the meantime, the production of fuel vehicles will be more. This will go on while the company develops all-electric versions of its bestseller, the 911. The vision is an 80% electrification of its vehicles by 2030.
