Panasonic releases Lumix S 18mm F1.8 wide-angle lens: lightweight and flexibility

Yesterday, Panasonic announced the L-mount LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 large aperture ultra wide-angle fixed focal length lens. the LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 lens consists of 13 lenses in 12 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses, 3 ED (low dispersion) lenses, 1 ULD (ultra-low dispersion) lens and 1 UHR (ultra-high refractive index) lens. the use of 3 aspherical lenses achieves High image quality and beautiful bokeh, which are common advantages of this series of F1.8 lenses.

The 18mm focal length is suitable for a wide range of scenes, such as landscape, astronomy, and architecture photography with an ultra-wide angle of view. The closest focusing distance is 0.18m, allowing for close-up shots.

The LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 weighs approximately 340g, making it lightweight and flexible enough to be used with the LUMIX full-frame camera S5. The reliable dust/splash-proof design allows for high mobility even in harsh conditions down to -10 degrees Celsius. The filter diameter is 67mm and the lens comes with nine circular aperture blades.

At this time, Panasonic has not yet announced the availability of this lens.
