Tesla today released the new Model 3 Performance, which is an upgraded all-electric performance car that has made many important improvements to the previous model.
The new Tesla Model 3 Performance is equipped with Tesla’s new fourth-generation drive unit, which has a continuous power increase of 22%, a peak power increase of 32%, a peak torque increase of 16%, and a cruising range of 296 miles (approximately 476 kilometers). The electric motor has a total power of 510 horsepower and a total torque of 740 Nm. 0-60 mph (approximately 96 km/h) is achieved in 2.9 seconds and the top speed is 262 km/h. While the power is improved, the energy consumption of the new model will be further reduced.
According to the official introduction, the new car continues the quiet and comfortable cockpit of the past, while using customized chassis hardware to improve body stiffness and overall performance.
The new Model 3 Performance has been adjusted in terms of appearance details, such as a diffuser shape added at the bottom of the rear apron, a carbon fiber spoiler at the rear, and a colorful radial pattern tail badge with the same shape as the Model S/X Plaid version.
The new car comes standard with forged 20-inch blackened wheels and Pirelli P Zero 4 tires, which bring better grip and reduce traction control intervention. At the same time, these configurations can also increase cruising range and reduce rolling resistance, bringing a more comfortable driving experience.
The new Track Mode V3 will bring greater stability and predictability, as well as a consistent driving experience. Tesla achieved this by integrating the motor and suspension control systems, powertrain cooling system, and Vehicle Dynamics Controller (VDC) into a unified system.
The new car is also equipped with a new adaptive damping system. “This system can adjust in real time based on driver and road input to optimize handling and driving comfort. The interior design of the new Model 3 Performance has not changed much. The center console has been replaced with a carbon fiber trim panel and new sports seats are used. The new sports seats provide the same comfort and functionality as before. It can also provide better lateral support, making it more comfortable during cornering and dynamic driving.
The starting price of the new Model 3 Performance in the United States is US$52,990 (Note : Currently about 384,000 RMB).
