Oppo Reno 8 series launches with MediaTek Dimensity SoC; Price, Specifications

Oppo has finally launched its much-awaited Oppo Reno 8 lineup of smartphones, officially. The series consists of two different smartphones; Oppo Reno 8 and Oppo Reno 8 Pro. There are many similarities between both of them and differences as well. Let’s have a glimpse at the complete specifications of both the devices, along with their launch prices.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro specifications and price

Starting with the pro model, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro flaunts a gorgeous 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ 1080*2412 pixel resolution, 120Hz high refresh rate, HDR 10+ certification and 93.4 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the custom MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC, which is built over TSMC’s 5nm fabrication node. It has 4X CortexA-78 performance cores and 4X Cortex A-55 power-saving cores along with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.

The device has got triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixels Sony IMX 766 f/1.8 primary camera, an 8-megapixels secondary ultrawide and a 2-megapixels macro camera at last. It has got a 32-megapixels Sony IMX709 front-facing camera. Also, the camera performance will be handled by Oppo’s custom MariSilicon chip. It has got a 4500mAh battery with support for 80W fast wired charging. It will boot up on Android 12 based on ColorOS 12.1 out of the box.

It comes in one and only 12GB+256GB variant in India. It is priced at INR 45,999 (~$575). It will go on sale in the country starting tomorrow i.e. July 19th, 2022. Buyers will also get the Oppo Watch at just INR 1.00 if they purchase the device from Oppo’s official online store and app. The offer is valid till August 31st, 2022.

Oppo Reno 8 specifications and price

Coming down to vanilla Oppo Reno 8, it has got 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+ certification, and 90.8 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC which is built over a 6nm fabrication node and has got the same 4X CortexA-78 performance cores and 4X Cortex A-55 power-saving cores along with older generation Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.

Compared to the Pro model, it has the same camera setup. The absence of Oppo’s unique MariSilicon chip is the only distinction. Just to mention, it has three cameras on the back: a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 766 f/1.8 primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide secondary camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera as the third and final camera. It has a front-facing 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 camera. Additionally, it has a 4500mAh battery that supports 80W quick charging.

The 8GB+128GB version of the Oppo Reno 8 will be available for INR 29,999 (roughly $375). Black and gold will be the colours offered. It will go on sale starting July 25th, 2022 in the country.
