OPPO may be planning to stop providing charging bricks with its products

Many OEMs have ceased including chargers in the packaging of their smartphones in the recent year. The trend began with Apple and was quickly followed by numerous brands like Samsung, Nothing, and Xiaomi. The brands proclaim that they are doing this to “Save the Environment,” yet we are equally aware that they are doing this for business or to save the environment. It appears that OPPO is preparing to join the trend of removing adapters from their products.

OPPO might stop providing chargers with their products

In the latest report shared by Android Police, they mentioned that the President of Overseas sales and services at OPPO, Billy Zhang, announced during the recent European launch of the OPPO Reno 8 series that the upcoming OPPO product will not offer charging adapters in the box. The new rules of not providing charges in the box will be implemented within the next 12 months.

However, Zhang did not specify which smartphones will not include a charging adapter. According to the report, Zhang’s words imply that the move may be confined to select regions and will be dependent on the product. According to Zhang, Oppo will continue to include SuperVOOC charging adapters because it was difficult for consumers to obtain these chargers.

We strongly expect that this decision by OPPO is going to be region limited. However, we don’t have any official comments on this yet. Neither they have mentioned an exact reason behind taking this step nor they have clarified things. We may get to see the in-ground implementation of the announcement in the coming months. This will also clear out whether the decision is region limited or not.
