OnePlus launched a new smartphone trade-in option to boost the ecosystem

OnePlus and Ecologi team up to make the enviroment a better place with the planting of trees for every traded in device.

OnePlus is introducing a new trade-in system for users purchasing a new device via the website. This system will ensure the planting of a tree for every trade-in device that a customer in Europe or the UK. In the long run, this initiative will reduce device waste, hence preventing pollution but instead driving the recycling of the device for other purposes.

A party in this initiative is Ecologi a climate action organization to make an impact in the reduction of climate change. So far, Ecology has funded the planting of over 50.3 million trees and worked to reduce 2.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emission. Both parties are optimistic about working together to achieve this eco-friendly objective.

OnePlus is now integrating an automatic valuation system into its mobile application for devices to be traded-in. The trade-in offer is not exclusive to only OnePlus smartphones, other brands like Nokia, Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony, Samsung, Apple, and Google. So those looking out to switch over to OnePlus from any other brand can trade in their old device while ensuring one tree is planted.

Other brands like Nokia also have eco-friendly initiatives in place for trade-in and purchasing a smartphone. Such efforts from smartphone manufacturers help to promote the best of the environment. Countries in Europe will benefit from this scheme with the launch of the company’s next-generation flagship devices.
