Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 was officially released on the evening of August 10, the machine is the first smartphone equipped with the Android 12L operating system, the operating system has a new taskbar layout, somewhat similar to the taskbar at the bottom of the system on the PC side.

Now according to blogger @TheGalox_, the older Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phones will get a new taskbar with the One UI 4.1.1 upgrade “later this year”.

It’s not certain how much of the Samsung Z Fold4 One UI 4.1.1 user experience is related to the new Android 12L, but from GSM Arena’s hands-on experience, at least some Google native apps are available in split-screen mode for a good experience.

Android 12L is an operating system launched by Google last year, specifically for foldable devices, tablets and Chrome OS devices, with some optimizations in terms of operating logic.

Android 12L brings several new features that improve the experience of using multitasking on large-screen devices, as well as support for new swipe gestures, and Samsung also announced at the Galaxy Z Fold 4 launch that it will join forces with Google and Microsoft to bring an enhanced software experience to the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is powered by a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, complemented by 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, a 4400mAh battery and support for 25W fast charging + 15W wireless charging. It also comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X external display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 402ppi.
