NIO ET5 was announced back in December 2021, and today its first pre-production units are rolling off the production line in the company’s second factory located at NeoPark in Hefei, Anhui province. This news was revealed by a video shared on Sunday. It thus means that the model is all poised to enter mass production and would be available to customers within a span of a month, if everything goes as per plan.

As has been the custom, these first units that leave the factory would serve for quality control ensuring all elements and parts are ready and available for the end consumer.

Thanks to its huge 150kWh battery the model claims to have a range of 1000km. A torque of 442.5lb ft enables the car to race from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.3 seconds. At the same time, the four-pot brake calipers will bring the car down from 62mph to a complete halt in 33.9 metres. The 4.7 metre long ET5 has an ultra-slippery drag coefficient of 0.24.

The next major milestone when we can expect more details on NIO’s ET5 model would be in the Chengdu Motor Show 2022 which would be held from August 26th till September 4th this year.
