Japanese game console manufacturer, Nintendo, is now brushing up on its services and this will bring certain changes to how gamers play. These changes include the removal of social media (Twitter and Facebook) login options. Users of the company’s products will only be able to log in to their profiles using their gaming platform email address or account username.

This change not only affects how users log in but also how they play with the community of gamers across the world. Previously, using a social media account to log in helped the gaming platform easily sync your gaming account to your social media account. This in turn makes it easy to find friends to game with among the people you constantly interact with on either social media platform (Twitter or Facebook).

According to Nintendo, this new sign-in policy will go into effect on October 25 and will affect users globally. But there is no need to sulk about this since Nintendo has its Switch mobile app, where finding friends to play with is much easier. This update to the gaming company’s sign-in policy on its consoles will help them draw more attention to its mobile application.

There are rumours that the Japanese gaming console manufacturer will launch a new console sometime next year. If this is accurate we can expect to see the Switch OLED successor which will come with some improvements in performance and possible graphics. Until then, Nintendo users should get more familiar with their new login policy and familiarize themselves with the Switch mobile app.
