The new Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV has been officially launched, with the price being the same as the old model, ranging from 486,000 to 630,600 RMB. The new car adds 5G communication modules, velvet floor mats and other configurations at the configuration level. The entry-level Pioneer version adds starry sky Internet decoration, and other configurations are basically the same as the old models.

It is noticed that the new Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV continues the design language of the EQE. The front face uses a closed grille and a through-type LED light strip. The headlights have built-in “Meteor Shower” intelligent digital headlights, which can provide 2.6 million illumination pixels. The shape of the front bumper is more exaggerated, and black decorative lines add to the sporty feel.

On the side of the car body, the new car’s exterior rearview mirrors are fixed on the doors, and the rims adopt a low-wind resistance design. The lines at the rear of the car are rounded, and the taillights adopt a through-type design. The length, width and height of the new car are 4880/2032/1679 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 3030 mm, and the curb weight is 2560 kg.

The new car supports the optional air suspension (AIRMATIC) with adaptive damping system plus (ADS+) (available in the future), which can increase the body height by 30 mm to increase passability. The new car also provides a variety of driving modes, including “Energy Saving”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Personalized” and “Off-Road”. In addition, the new car can also be equipped with an optional rear-wheel active steering system with a steering angle of up to 10 degrees.

In terms of interior, the new car can be equipped with an oversized triple screen, combined with a multi-function steering wheel and multi-color ambient lighting, to create a sense of technology and luxury. The air-conditioning outlet of the new car adopts a “turbofan” shape, which is the same as that of the EQE. The new car is also optionally equipped with the latest MBUX Hyperscreen in-car system, which uses a zero-level interface. Users do not need to rummage through submenus or control via voice. All key applications will always be displayed at the top of the field of view. The MBUX super connected screen is 141 cm wide, and the three displays are almost seamlessly blended together. The front passenger display is a 12.3-inch OLED screen with an independent control interface. The system also features smart locking logic that automatically dims the screen if the camera detects that the driver is looking in the direction of the front passenger screen to avoid distracting the driver.

The new car has also been upgraded in terms of configuration, adding 5G communication modules, velvet floor mats and other configurations. The entry-level Pioneer Edition model has added starry sky Internet decoration. The new car is also equipped with active ambient lighting, which can dynamically present different lighting effects according to the driving status of the vehicle. The new car is also equipped with luminous star logos, dynamic luminous welcome lights and luminous welcome pedals. The simulated sound of the new car can achieve dynamic simulated sound effects based on 12 vehicle parameters. The on-board navigation of the new car is customized by Amap and supports AR real-life travel navigation function.

In terms of active and passive safety configurations, the new car provides active and passive safety configurations such as attention assist system, active braking assist system, active lane keeping assist system, etc. It can also be equipped with an enhanced version of driving assistance with intersection start and stop function.

For the Chinese market, the new car has added 10 exclusive configurations, such as “boss button” and comfortable rear headrests. NVH has also been optimized, such as equipped with double-layer silent glass in the front row and vehicle acoustic package.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a dual motor and four-wheel drive system. The battery pack capacity is 96.1 kWh, which can provide a maximum output power of 215 kW (350 model) and 300 kW (500 model). The maximum cruising range under CLTC operating conditions is 613 kilometers. It supports 4-speed kinetic energy recovery intensity adjustment, equipped with heat pump system. The battery management system of the new car can be upgraded OTA. The vehicle has a maximum charging power of 128 kilowatts and a charging time of 10%-80% in 48 minutes. In order to further improve the cruising range, the front axle motor of the new car can be completely decoupled through the four-wheel drive disconnect unit (DCU). The intelligent disconnect system operates fully automatically depending on the driving mode and output power requirements. When driving at a constant speed, the four-wheel drive disconnect device can stop the motor of the front or rear axle, thereby allowing the vehicle to operate in two-wheel drive mode to reduce energy consumption.
