The new Android Auto, first shown at the 2022 Google I/O conference, is now being rolled out to users with a new user interface design.
The new Android Auto uses a modern UI design and uses a split-screen layout. The main interface consists of three modules: a navigation bar, the main application interface, and a smaller sidebar section that can display One or two gadgets.
Split-screen layouts can be adjusted to fit screens of any size or orientation in any car. The navigation bar can be placed on the right or bottom. The main application interface can be next to the sidebar section, or it can be placed on top. A sidebar can be a tall vertical bar or a skinny horizontal bar.
Overall, the redesigned interface simplifies navigation, communication and media playback, in addition to new conversation shortcuts that help users make calls and respond to messages.
Google is also adding features to Android Auto. The company said that newer Pixel and Samsung phones will soon support calls to WhatsApp. Google Assistant now offers smart suggestions for missed calls, arrival time sharing, music and podcasts.
In addition to Android Auto, there are a number of vehicle upgrades coming soon. Samsung phones will support digital car key sharing in the near future, and Xiaomi phone users will have this feature later in 2023.
