Netflix plans to release 40 more games in 2023, and will offer 95 games by the end of the year, said Leanne Loombe, vice president of games for Netflix.

The company is offering a large number of handheld games to Netflix subscribers via Android and iOS starting at the end of 2021. In a blog update posted Monday, Netflix said it has 16 first-party games currently in development and another 70 in development with third-party studios.

We intend to continue to improve our game lineup this year, which means new games will be released every month,” Loombe said. Subscribing members will find indie favourites, award-winning heavy hitters, RPGs, narrative adventures, puzzle games, and more. We’re working with the world’s leading studios to bring these games to everyone.”

According to the presentation, Ubisoft plans to release three exclusive games with Netflix, such as Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace, which is scheduled for release on April 18. Ubisoft has previously released Braveheart: Homecoming in January and is also currently developing Assassin’s Creed Handbook and an Assassin’s Creed movie and TV series.

Netflix also announced that a sequel to one of its most popular games, Too Hot to Handle: Love is a Game, is in development by Nanobit and is scheduled for release later this year.

ustwo’s Monument Valley series is coming to Netflix in 2024, “starting with the first two series,” with more to come “later,” according to Loombe.

“While it’s still in the early stages of development, I’m excited to share that Super Evil Megacorp (‘Vanity Fair,’ ‘Catalyst Black’) is working with us on a Netflix exclusive,” she added.

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Loombe also revealed more about plans for the Netflix cloud gaming service, “We do believe that cloud gaming will allow us to easily play games anywhere and provide a hassle-free gaming experience.”

“But we do need to be thoughtful about how we do this and how we bring it to our members, so just like we’re doing with handheld games, we’ll take our time and think about it from a learning perspective, but it’s definitely a work in progress.”

Filmmaker Zack Snyder has just also revealed that his Netflix space sci-fi movie Rebel Moon will come with an RPG game, but it’s unclear if it will be released exclusively by Netflix.
