Netflix might be planning to speed things up with the launch of its ad-supported subscription plan. Originally, the conclusions were that this subscription tier will launch sometime in the first quarter of 2023. This previous launch date came from various sources, but now we see things from Netflix’s possible standpoint.

At this point still, the new stand regarding the launch of this new subscription tier is not an official statement, hence a rumour. According to our sources, this change in launch date is the streaming company’s little effort to beat the competition to its game. Disney Plus is the competition in question, as it plans to launch a similar ad-supported streaming subscription on December 8.

Pulling the launch of this new subscription plan forward will help Netflix to attract more subscribers. At its launch which is said to take place on November 2022, Netflix will make its ad subscription offer readily available to certain regions. After some time, the company might as well roll out its ad-supported plan to more regions across the globe.

The first countries that will receive this new and cheaper subscription plan are the United States, Canada, the UK, France, and Germany. For its early stages, the company will check to see the rate of adoption of the new subscription plan in the regions above. If the result of user statistics is impressive, the streaming service provider will be ever willing to roll out this feature to other regions in the months to follow.
