Montage Technology Releases Industry’s First DDR5 Gen 1 Clock Driver

0

Montage Technology announced that it is the first in the industry to launch engineering samples of the first-generation DDR5 clock driver (CKD or DDR5CK01 for short), and has sent samples to mainstream memory manufacturers in the industry. The product will be used in a new generation of Desktop and laptop memory.

The clock driving function is generally integrated in the register clock driver (Register Clock Driver) chip, which was previously used on the server side. As the frequency of DDR5 memory on the PC side continues to increase, a clock driver chip is required to ensure the integrity of the clock signal.

According to reports, Montage’s DDR5CK01 chip complies with the JEDEC DDR5CK01 standard, supports up to DDR5 6400 memory, and has a low-power management mode. The first DDR5CK01 engineering samples have been delivered to customers.

In May this year, Montage Technology also announced the industry’s first trial production of the second-generation DDR5 registered clock driver chip M88DR5RCD02, which supports a data rate of up to 5600MT/s and is suitable for big data, artificial intelligence, physical Data-intensive applications such as networking and edge computing.
