Intel: Arc A770 Optical Tracking Performance better than RTX 3060

Intel has released a new video to show off the ray tracing technology behind its Arc Alchemist graphics card. While the Arc A770 has yet to prove that it outperforms the competition, the light-tracing capabilities of this unique graphics card look pretty good.

Intel has also previously demonstrated the optical tracking performance of the Arc A380 entry-level graphics card, and although it only has 8 ray tracing units, it is slightly better than the competition.

The Arc A770, on the other hand, has flagship parameters, including 32 ray tracing units, and interestingly, Intel has finally proven its previous claim that the Arc is very impressive in terms of ray tracing, even better than NVIDIA’s second-generation RT kernel.

According to Intel’s benchmarks, the Arc A770’s ray tracing performance is even better than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, and Alchemist outperforms Ampere between 1X and 1.56X, while the Arc A770 loses to the RTX 3060 in only three games: F1 2022, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Battlefield V.

Intel’s 1440p (2560×1440) gaming benchmarks show that the Arc A770 struggles to deliver normal frame rates in games like Phantom Thread: Tokyo and Hitman 3.

However, with XeSS technology enabled under the Balance preset, the Arc A770 improved ray tracing performance in these two games by 1.77X and 1.61X respectively, so if you need performance more than visuals, the XeSS feature can help you improve your GPU performance even further.

Based on the XeSS performance presets, the Arc A770 delivered over 2x frame rate performance in Phantom Thread: Tokyo and Hitman 3. The card also showed significant performance gains in other games tested, such as Tomb Ryzen: Shadow, Arcadegeddon and Chronicles of the Gods.

Intel has previously officially confirmed that the Razzle Dazzle 5 and 7 monitors will begin shipping in the third quarter, so we can expect a final price. The Razzle A770 is between the RTX 3060 Ti and the GeForce RTX 3070, which are $399 and $499 respectively, and the 770 is expected to be between the two as well.
