Microsoft to launch Insider program for Surface Duo soon

0

Microsoft has launched the Insider program for major products including Windows, Office, and Xbox, and the latest news says Microsoft is expected to expand the program in the near future to include the Surface Duo.

Microsoft watcher Gustave Monce recently found a dedicated “Surface Insider Program” page in the Surface Duo device, with a layout similar to how Windows users sign up for the Windows Insider Program in the Settings app.

Mons also found that users can sign up for different channels, somewhat similar to the Dev, Beta and Release Preview channels in the current Windows Insider program.

While the Surface Duo and Duo 2 offer almost all of the Android experience, the Insider program will help the company invite more users to test these features before rolling them out to everyone. Android phone makers, including Samsung and OnePlus, have their own beta programs to test new features before making them available to a larger user base. Microsoft’s Duo devices appear to be moving in that direction.
