Microsoft signs CarbonCapture contract to start capturing and storing CO2 by 2024

0

Microsoft recently announced that it has signed a CarbonCapture contract to start a project called Project Bison in 2024. The project will directly absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and then store it underground. Microsoft hopes to achieve its goal of absorbing more carbon dioxide than it emits by 2050.

The Bison project plans to build a large CO2 absorption unit in Wyoming, USA, to absorb CO2 directly from the air. Microsoft has not disclosed details of the project.

The technology of absorbing carbon dioxide directly from the air is now being put into commercial use, but there are still many challenges such as high costs and technical difficulties.
