Microsoft reminds: Windows 10 21H1 will soon stop support users please upgrade as soon as possible

Microsoft has issued a reminder to inform users of the Windows 10 21H1 feature update that support will soon be discontinued. all versions of Windows 10 21H1 will be discontinued on December 13, 2022. After that date, the feature update will no longer receive any security updates or patches, which means users will need to upgrade to Windows 10 21H2 and above, or Windows 11 systems.

In addition to informing users of the impending end of support, Microsoft may also take some strong-arm tactics to get users to upgrade to Windows 10 21H2 or later. Microsoft is allowing users to freely choose the version of Windows that is still in support, though the migration will be initiated a few months before that version is due to end support.

According to AdDuplex’s June 2022 report, Windows 10 21H1 has about 21% market share, so a large percentage of Windows users will have to update their OS or wait for an update from Microsoft.

Note that since Microsoft’s focus is now skewed towards Windows 11 systems, there are no major changes to upgrading from Windows 10 21H1 to Windows 10 21H2, and the migration process is no different than the standard monthly cumulative updates. Hardware requirements are also unchanged, so applications and devices should continue to work fine.
