Microsoft launched Microsoft 365 Copilot service on March 16, based on a large language model, with the help of artificial intelligence to further improve productivity.

Microsoft 365 Copilot can help users write documents in Word, analyze data or reports in Excel, create presentations in PowerPoint, and more.

Windows lastest, a foreign technology media, shared the early version of “Copilot for Word” for Win10 and Win11 in its latest report. Microsoft has only invited a small number of Office Word for Insiders (Beta Channel) users to test it, and some of the features are currently not working properly.

Microsoft describes the Copilot for Word feature as “a new way to work smarter and faster. This private preview is only available to select Microsoft 365 enterprise customers.

The following tasks that “Copilot for Word” can help you accomplish:

  • Provide suggestions and error alerts for your content
  • Help you find the right image for the content of your article
  • Automatically format graphic layouts
  • Automatically generate summaries from documents
  • Open the Writers UnBlock dialogue box
  • Show Editor PaneAI Feedback Skittle

In practice, Copilot for Word gives you two prompts: “Start a document” and “Just write about it”.

Both prompts largely perform the same task – write a completely new document or change an existing one based on your input. Because it is not yet perfect, Word AI often does not work properly and throws an error message stating that it cannot understand the request.
