In 2023 Shanghai auto show, the Mercedes-Benz EQG concept car debuted in the Chinese market, leaving a deep impression on everyone. According to Automobile House, this new car is expected to go on sale within 2024.

In terms of appearance, the Mercedes-Benz EQG concept car continues the design language of the fuel version of the big G, the body appearance is very square and adopts the design of hard lines, even the iconic headlights are completely replicated. The sides and rear of the concept car have also changed very little compared to the fuel version, mainly eliminating the tailpipe.

Inside, the Mercedes-Benz EQG Concept is basically the same design as the current Mercedes-Benz G-Class, featuring a dual-screen design that connects the full LCD instrument cluster to the center multimedia display, and is paired with the latest dual three-spoke flat-bottomed sports steering wheel.

At this year’s CES, Mercedes blocked off a section of the Las Vegas Strip late at night, allowing four prototypes to perform a tank-turning function called “G-Turn”. The feature utilizes the SUV’s four electric motors to rotate the car 360 degrees in place, but Mercedes says the “G-Turn” is for off-road use only, not for public roads.

Mercedes says the G-Turn allows for a 720-degree turn, but drivers can also use it to make 90-degree turns and tackle complex terrain more easily. The feature is activated by pressing a button on the dashboard and then holding the steering wheel’s shift paddles.

For the time being, no official information has been released about the new car’s power and other details, and we will continue to pay attention and bring follow-up reports.
