As one of the first adopters of Wi-Fi 7 technology, MediaTek will showcase a production-ready complete ecosystem using next-generation wireless connectivity for the first time at the International CES 2023, according to official news from MediaTek.

MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 products will include multiple product categories, including residential gateways, mesh routers, TVs, streaming devices, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and more, according to the presentation.

Last year, MediaTek conducted the world’s first Wi-Fi 7 technology demonstration, and now MediaTek is proud to showcase its significant progress in building a more complete product ecosystem, MediaTek said. Officials said the range of devices, many of which are powered by the Filogic 880 flagship chipset that won the CES 2023 Innovation Award. Compared to the competition, MediaTek’s Wi-Fi 7 solution uses a 6nm process that reduces main power consumption by 50% and reduces MLO switching latency by 100x.

MediaTek announced the new Filogic 880 and Filogic 380 Wi-Fi 7 solutions from Dragon.

The Filogic 880 features a scalable architecture that can support five-band 4×4 MIMO technology (Multi-input Multi-output Multi-input Multi-output) at up to 36Gbps. In addition, it supports a “wide range” of interfaces and peripherals, so it can be adapted to a variety of use cases and customized for all applications. In addition, the Filogic 380 is also a 6nm chip, but it is relatively more in line with expectations, especially since it supports a variety of common consumer electronics uses, such as Wi-Fi-7 and Bluetooth 5.3 support for smartphones, tablets, TVs, laptops, set-top boxes and OTT sticks, among others.
