The five-seat new flagship of Li L7 will be delivered to the market on February 8, 2023. Lang Xianpeng, the person in charge of Intelligent Driving of Li Auto, said that Li will announce the latest update on the intelligent driving of Li Auto on the day of the L7 launch conference. Technological progress and the latest test video of city navigation-assisted driving is shown for the first time.

At present, the Li car intelligent driving system is divided into two versions, Max and Pro, and all its models are standard. The Li L7 Max for 10,000 CNY is equipped with AD Max version and Max version system and smart space.

The Max version uses two Nvidia Orin-X chips, with a total computing power of 508TOPS; while the Pro version uses Horizon’s Journey 5 self-driving chip, with a total computing power of 128TOPS, and only supports high-speed scene navigation assisted driving.

Li L7 Max version is equipped with lidar, 6 8-megapixel cameras, 5 2-megapixel cameras, 1 forward-facing millimeter-wave radar, and a safety redundancy system; the Pro version has 1 8-megapixel camera, 9 2-megapixel Pixel camera, 1 forward millimeter wave radar.

Take Li L9’s “Li AD Max” intelligent driving system as an example. This system uses full-stack self-developed perception, decision-making, planning and control software to ensure the reliability and high growth of the system. Among them, the AEB automatic emergency braking function is optimized for China’s road conditions, which enhances the recognition of crossing pedestrians and two-wheeled vehicles, which can effectively reduce the incidence of traffic accidents, and can also achieve rapid iteration through full-stack self-development capabilities.

Li L9 uses six 8-megapixel cameras and five 2-megapixel cameras to achieve 360° all-round perception of the surroundings and long-distance of the car body. Among them, the combination of two 8-megapixel cameras directly in front can realize the recognition of objects such as vehicles, pedestrians and cones within a wide-angle range of 120° and up to 550 meters away.

This model also has 128 car-grade lidar lasers with a global resolution of 1200×128 and a point cloud volume of 1.53 million per second. It has the strongest comprehensive performance among mass-produced car-grade lidars.

On January 28, Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, issued a letter to all employees saying that he will become a leader in the global artificial intelligence industry by 2030.

He said that he hopes that the Li car in 15 years will be able to build a complete systemic capability in the field of artificial intelligence (software 2.0), and believes that the technical products of software 2.0 will be officially launched in China. It is said that urban NOA navigation-assisted driving (without relying on HDMAP) that realizes end-to-end training will begin to land at the end of 2023.

Judging from this internal letter, Li Auto smart driving is based on the industry’s popular BEV perception and Transformer models to achieve urban NOA navigation-assisted driving without high-precision maps.

Li Xiang said that in the software 1.0 stage, humans design logic, humans program, machines perform calculations, and humans use the software. In the software 2.0 stage, machines learn from humans (including a closed loop of perception, decision-making, execution, and feedback), cloud training algorithms, machines use algorithms, and machines serve humans.
