Li Auto released the latest weekly sales list. The data shows that in the first week of 2024 (1.1-1.7), Li Auto sales were 4,300 units, while AITO M5 was 5,900 units, exceeding Li Auto 1600 units.

If we look at the new energy list, BYD ranks first on the list with 44,400 units in the first week of 2024, followed by Wuling with 10,200 units, AITO ranks third, Changan Automobile, GAC Aian and Li Cars ranked 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively, with Volkswagen, Deep Blue Automobile, Tesla, and NIO ranking 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th;

“Late Auto” previously stated that within Li Auto, there is a consensus among many employees that this year is the main battlefield between Li Auto and Huawei.

The report quoted multiple Li Auto insiders as saying that Li Auto’s first pure electric car MEGA was originally planned to be launched in December last year, but it was postponed after the release date of the Wenjie M9 was announced. The reason for this is that on the one hand, Li intends to modify the seat configuration of MEGA, and on the other hand, because the M9 was released first, MEGA can refer to its pricing and has a “latecomer advantage.”

As the Spring Festival approaches, pre-sale orders are lower than expected, recent public opinion turmoil, and pressure from competing products such as the Wenjie M9 have caused the release of MEGA to be postponed to March this year.

According to reports, Li Auto has introduced Boston Consulting Group, IBM, etc. to the company in the past two years. It has also invited Jono Consulting and retired Huawei executives to train internal employees, and has poached Huawei employees to help with the Li Auto introduction process.

Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, also requires executives from all departments to read more than ten books about Huawei in order to implement “Learning from Huawei”. According to a person close to Li Auto, there is a stack of books about Huawei on the desks of all first-level department heads.

Regarding the progress of the L6, another new car in the L-series of Li Auto, people close to Li Auto said that the car was originally scheduled to be released in June this year, and Li Auto is currently planning to advance its release to early April. The car will be a five-seater SUV, and internal expectations are for monthly sales of 20,000 units.

According to previous reports, Li Xiang said during the financial report conference call in November last year that Li Auto’s management has a unified understanding of Huawei: 80% is learning, 20% is showing respect, and zero complaints.

As a start-up, we are very admirable and excited to meet such a role model who has made nearly one trillion in revenue when we reach the scale of 100 billion in revenue. This is our true mentality.
