The iPhone 14 Pro series features an “exclamation point” screen, and Apple has made this opening a feature that has been well received by users. When there are notifications for call alerts, AirPods connectivity, Face ID authentication, Apple Pay, AirDrop, AirPlay, Apple Watch unlocking iPhone, charging and low battery alerts, the island changes its shape to allow users to receive these messages more intuitively.

In fact, before the iPhone 14 Pro series of Smart Island was created, there was a similar “Smart Island” feature in the Android market. The LG V10, which was released seven years ago, was already available with a third-party app.

As shown in the picture, a secondary screen has been added to the top right of the LG V10 5.7-inch main screen, which is 2.1 inches in size and has a resolution of 160 x 1040.

Users can operate directly on the secondary screen, such as opening the Netflix app, pausing or playing music, and switching between unused third-party apps, similar in function to the iPhone 14 Pro series’ Dynamic Island.

Not only that, but users can also set their own shortcuts to frequently used apps on the secondary screen, as well as add frequently used contacts for quick calls or text messages.

In addition, the secondary screen can also display a shortcut action bar for Today’s Plan, support message previews and incoming messages or tweets and system alerts are displayed on secondary screen. When the main screen is switched off, the secondary screen remains on display and users can choose to display the date and time or a personalized signature, among other things.

This high-end flagship was released on 1 October 2015 and unfortunately, LG has now withdrawn from the smartphone market.
