LEGO tests new Minifigure Factory tool, lets you create your own Minifigures for $12

According to The Verge, LEGO is testing a new online figure-making tool, Minifigure Factory, which allows you to create a LEGO figure of your own.

In this tool, you can choose different heads, headpieces, torsos, legs and accessories for your custom mannequin. For the torso, you can go really deep with customization by applying decals and custom text. (According to Jay’s Brick blog, LEGO will review the designs to prevent users from making inappropriate figures). There are also some fun accessories, such as a laptop, pretzels and pizza, from which you can pick and choose. The completed figure will cost $11.99, although each user can only purchase one.

If you’ve used LEGO’s online Build A Minifigure tool (available in some countries), Minifigure Factory looks similar. However, Build A Minifigure does not offer the level of torso customization that Minifigure Factory does.

LEGO says the site currently has “limited availability. The company also said Minifigure Factory is now a beta version and said in a notice that “some parts and features may not be available” and that “you may also find the page unavailable from time to time.”
