Kia sold 9,835 domestic and international vehicles in April, up 72.5% YOY

Kia announced domestic and international sales of 9,835 units in April, up 72.5 percent year-on-year and 2.4 percent sequentially; cumulative export sales this year were 14,167 units, up 55.8 percent year-on-year. Starting in 2023, Kia will launch at least one pure electric vehicle per year based on the E-GMP platform for electric vehicles, with a total of six pure electric models to be launched by 2027. By 2030, the company will achieve annual sales of 180,000 EV models and a 40 percent share of sales.

The official obtained that Kia in November 2022 in China introduced the global flagship SUV – Lion Platinum, and upgraded on the basis of the global high model, providing three golden powertrains 1.5T + 8AT, 2.0T + 8AT, 2.0L + 6AT (HEV). At the 2023 Shanghai International Auto Show, Kia also launched Kia’s globally popular compact SUV, the Setus, which is composed of the Lionel Toplander, Kiawah, K5, K3 and other models to form Kia’s new global model product lineup in China.

The EV6, the first electric vehicle built on Kia’s E-GMP platform, will be available for sale in China in August this year in imported form. In November this year, Kia will also launch the EV5, a mid-sized electric SUV.
