KDE Releases Plasma 5.27.3 Maintenance Update, Enables Night Color on ARM Devices

0

The KDE team has released the DE Plasma 5.27.3 desktop environment maintenance update today, 2 weeks after the last update. The update focuses on enabling the Night Color feature on ARM devices that do not support Gamma LUTs, but do support color transformation matrices, such as the Acer Spin 513 Chromebook with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c processor.

This maintenance update continues to improve Plasma Wayland sessions, optimize the SDDM login screen for touch screens, and integrate the KDE Frameworks 5.104 software suite released last week. This maintenance update also improves the screenshot operation of Plasma Wayland and fixes an issue that caused some applications to crash when the display goes to sleep.

KDE Plasma 5.27.3 also deploys a 15-minute inactivity sleep timeout by default for new users, correctly generates power profiles on laptops, and fixes a crash in the powerdevil power management subsystem in multi-monitor environments.
