Apple has officially announced its 2022 iPhone 14 lineup. The lineup consists of Apple iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The top-tier iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max also feature an all-new pill shape notch cutout, instead of the classic notch we used to get in Apple iPhones. The brand has also removed the physical SIM tray from its devices for the US market and only eSIM support has been provided. Let’s find out, why!

Apple iPhone 14 has got no physical SIM tray in US markets

There have been rumours of Apple removing physical SIM trays from its devices in the US market for a long time. However, with the iPhone 14 lineup, the brand has officially removed the support of physical SIM as they have totally removed the SIM tray from its iPhones. It’s a new step taken by the brand to enter the digital world. So, if anyone from the US is planning to switch to iPhone 14 lineup, he/she will also have to switch to the use of eSIM.

Well, eSIMs are quite popular in the US markets and the new decision of now providing dedicated SIM trays in their iPhones may not adversely affect the users. The step taken by the brand is currently limited to the US markets and the rest of other models such as the Indian variant of the iPhones will have dedicated SIM tray support. This will enable support for both eSIM and nano physical SIM cards for the product.
