Intel i9-13900HK and i7-13700H mobile processor scores and specs revealed

Intel is about to launch its 13th generation Raptor Lake processors, and now the high-end Core i9-13900HK and Core i7-13700H processors are available in the GeekBench score library. Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake mobile processor lineup is divided into 2 performance-oriented CPU branches, Raptor Lake-H55 and Raptor Lake HX SKUs.

The H55 parts will come in a mold configuration specifically designed for thin and light gaming notebooks, while the HX will have a similar mold configuration to the desktop. The H55 CPU will offer up to 14 cores and 20 threads, while the Raptor Lake-HX series offers up to 24 cores and 32 threads.

The leaked chips include the CoreT i9-13900HK and CoreT i7-13700H. Now, this is the first time we’ve seen the CoreT brand for a laptop CPU. Intel did announce that it would use a brand new naming convention for its entry-level chips, but not for the core. The CoreT SKU may be a TDP-optimized variant, or simply the Geekbench database doesn’t recognize the “TM” well.

The two chips have a total of 14 cores and 20 threads, and have 24 MB of L3 cache, while L2 cache is listed as 1.25 MB. Based on the amount of cache, it looks like this is the same Alder Lake chip, not a newer Raptor Lake chip, and there are no Raptor Cove cores that offer the increased L2 and L3 cache sizes. It’s also possible that the CoreT SKU is an update, and the standard core part will use Raptor Lake chips on it.

These CPUs are powered by Samsung 960XFH laptops with base clock speeds of 2.60 GHz (CoreT i9-13900HK) and 2.40 GHz (CoreT i7-13700H). The CoreT i9-13900HK runs at a boost frequency of up to 5.4 GHz, but averages around 4.1 GHz, while the CoreT i7-13700H maxes out at 5.0 GHz, but averages around 3.70 GHz. There is a huge difference between the maximum and average clock frequencies, which could suggest two things. The CPU is severely thermally limited, or these are engineering samples that haven’t been optimized in terms of clock management.
